The wisdom chapter of the Bodhicharyavatara - with Ringu Tulku Rinpoche

VIDEO ON DEMAND

Ringu Tulku Rinpoche has been teaching on the Bodhicharyavatara, the Introduction to the Bodhisattva’s Way of Life, the classic masterpiece composed by Shantideva, the 8th century Indian saint, in Lerab Ling since 2015.

In 2019 and 2023 he taught the entirety of chapter 9 on Wisdom. This VOD collection covers both years. Rinpoche plans to finish the cycle with chapter 10 on Dedication in 2024.

In the opening verse of Chapter 9, Shantideva reveals that the preceding chapters, with their profound teachings on the paramitas of generosity and other virtues, are all stepping stones on our transformative journey toward wisdom. It is wisdom itself that holds the key to liberating ourselves from the clutches of suffering. Within this chapter, Shantideva succinctly imparts profound insights into the nature of reality—the dual nature of conventional and ultimate truths. Furthermore, he unveils the true essence of emptiness, an extraordinary concept that serves as the remedy for the immense anguish we endure.
