Buddhist Parenting with awareness, ease and joy

Over the years, many Buddhist teachers have given inspiring, clear and practical teachings to parents and children that supported and nourished their families. The very best of these teachings and advice have been gathered to form the basis of this new online course.

This Buddhist Parenting Course will help you to:
  • learn tools to parent with more ease and presence 
  • appreciate and care for yourself and your family; 
  • see how parenting can be part of your spiritual path; 
  • explore teachings and practices that support your parenting, and 
  • find creative and joyful ways to share Buddhist values, practices and teachings with children

The course will be held by Astrid Heijdemann, Daniela Dalal and Fiona Clarke who are experienced in teaching children, teenagers and parents for more than 20 years.

The course language will be English only (if someone needs translation please contact us)

Delivery of this course
This course is presented on Rigpa’s Online Courses platform (ROC) with registration via Prajna.
Upon registration this course will be added to your personal library on Prajna as well as to your account on ROC, so you will be able to access the course via Prajna and directly with your ROC login.

Meet the teachers

Fiona Clarke has been a Rigpa student since 1999 and is a mother of three children. She has been holding retreats, workshops and courses internationally for the past twenty years, sharing tools for well-being and connection with adults and young people. Fiona is co-founder, senior trainer and managing director of the charity “Mind With Heart”, an international charity sharing secular well-being tools with young people and educators. Fiona currently lives in Dublin, Ireland.

Astrid Heijdeman has been a student of Rigpa for 30 years. She is a mother of two children and brought her children along to Buddhist retreats for several years. She has been holding sessions for parents in a Buddhist context for many years. Currently Astrid is giving courses to people who are new to Buddhism and is working in mental health care as a mindfulness trainer. She lives near Amsterdam, in the Netherlands.

Daniela Dalal has been a Rigpa student since 1997 and has been working on developing a Buddhist curriculum for children, teenagers and parents for more than 20 years. From 2010 onwards she managed the Rigpé Yeshé programme for children and families and coordinated summer retreats for young people for several years. Since 2019 Daniela has lived in Heidelberg, Germany where she works as a teacher in secondary school.
